Unesco’s observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is around the corner. The day was established by the United Nations to promote and create awareness of “the benefits of an inclusive and accessible society for all.” As a father of two children with autism, I am naturally motivated to create an inclusive and accessible society. However, my approach has always been less about big institutions, such as the UN, or government laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act.
